Emergency gas furnace as primary
My house has a heat pump with gas forced air backup. I do not use the heat pump for heat ever. Gas forced air is just less expensive for me. I want to know if anyone has ever configured a system with a heat pump to work this way. Nest suggested setting up as dual fuel and set safety temps to kick the furnace on. (This is a generation 1 nest).
They also suggest gen 2 has an emergency heat support but they say research is still needed to see if this configuration would work. Does anyone have any ideas?
