Prevent Firmware Updates

If not already there (i could not find it) .....
I want a way to prevent automatic firmware updates to the nest. I have already had an update cripple the thermostat making it non-fuctional. Much like I do with my iPhone, I want to wait for concensus opinions (on forums) before installing firmware.
Since I own the nest, it should be up to me to decide when to update.
Please add this feature as soon as possible.

it should work the same way as windows updates
3 options
1- off all together
2- autodownloads but does not install without your approval
3- autodownnloads and autoruns
